Covers for COVID
This project was started in March 2020. It aims to help the homeless community of San Diego during the coronavirus. As a part of the project, we donated 250 handmade masks, hand sanitizer, water bottles, and food.
San Diego Essential Items Drive
In July 2020 Covers for Lives hosted an essential items drive in San Diego! Here are some of the highlights: 130 cans, 450 masks, 300 gloves, and 1,312 sanitary products. We also raised over 270 dollars! All the proceeds went to Father Joes Villages
Menstrual Project Drive 2020
We collected more than 20,500 pads and tampons for SDUSD students! The proceeds with distributed to students at the district's December distribution!
Foster Care Kits
We put together care kits drive with essential items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, wipes, lotion etc. 30 were given to foster kids at Olive Crest, and 70 kits were given to SDUSD Children and Youth in Transition Program.
Mask Drive
Our club handmade and assembled about 300 cloth masks that were donated to low income students in San Diego Unified School District.
Dental Drive
Donated over 150 toothbrushes, 200 toothpastes, and 40 flosses to the Children and Youth in Transition Program helping students in need.
Shampoo Drive
After collecting over 8,000 bottles from our recycling drive, Covers for Lives packaged over 350 kits of shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, and body wash!
Street Boutique
We had members work with the nonprofitThinkDignity to help out with a boutique for women experiencing homelessness at SDRescue Center.
Cards for RMHC
We hosted a card-making event and donated cards to the Monarch School and the Ronald McDonald
House to provide encouragement for unhoused individuals
Menstrual Product Drive 2021
We donated over 40,000 high-quality menstrual products to the San Diego and Poway Unified School Districts to help unhoused students in the greater San Diego area.
Sock Drive
We donated over 800 pairs of socks to unhoused students in the San Diego Unified School District!
3-D Printed N95 Masks
Over the course of 2 years we worked item the non-profit Limbs with Love to assemble and donate 60 3-d printed N-95 masks to healthcare and homeless shelter workers
